Thermal Springs: The complex features natural warm springs, which cause many of the local streams to be at a year-round temperature of 28 °C. This feeds a swimming pool at the Hastings Visitor Centre, which is available to visitors to swim in.

Hastings Caves: The Hastings Caves State Reserve is the setting of a complex of caves and a natural warm spring located 102 km south of Hobart. Newdegate Cave, the largest dolomite cave in Australia open to tourists, is a part of the complex. They are located 5 kilometres from the nearby Lune River fossil/gem centre and the Ida Bay Railway.

Willie Smith’s Apple Shed: An old apple packing shed, built in 1942, The Apple Shed is the home of Willie Smith’s award-winning cider - just 25 minutes south of Hobart, in the Huon Valley. Charles Oates Distilling is also part of the family, distilling Fine Apple Brandy and Apple Blanco on site. Have a wander in the museum, see the heritage apples on display, enjoy a cider tasting or a tour of the Still, feast on the seriously good food and check out their Saturday morning produce market.

Mt Wellington: Kunanyi/Mt Wellington is a wilderness experience just a 20-minute drive from Hobart and is much loved by locals. The 21-km drive to the summit passes through temperate rainforest to sub-alpine flora and glacial rock formations, ending in panoramic views of Hobart, Bruny Island, South Arm and the Tasman Peninsula.
